‘There’s Fear in the Air’ Series
“It should be the fear of suicide that overcomes the fear of life.
But many times, it does not.”
Poldark, unknown
The 7 Symptoms That Show You Fear Life
- Indecisive
- Increased stress
- Settling for life as it is
- Avoiding conflicts
- Isolation
- Overwhelming fears
- Running from situations
Of course, there are many more fears and symptoms. Being critical and negative is one major sign of being dissatisfied with life. There is no way to firmly say there are only a few symptoms because of the fact that everyone is totally unique. What may bother me may not be a bother to you. I love the fact that we are individuals and have a unique makeup.
It is not like the symptom of diseases. Now, there are symptoms that hide when diseases rage through bodies like preying attackers. But essentially, if you have a heart disease, you will have symptoms that reflect that area of the body is being attacked. Sometimes, a problem with digestion will take years to pinpoint, but the symptoms will always be related to the digestion system. You may not know where you came in contact with a virus, or when, but the symptoms are always related. I find this a fascinating fact about the complexity of the body, as well as of life.
It is really nice to have a patient come into the facility with classic symptoms of a disease. Being detected in its early stages, it is satisfying to see the patient heal quickly. One example is the person who has severe sepsis, an infection that attacks the body and is found in the blood. Many times, it can come from a minor cut or minor infection somewhere and then accelerates and causes the body’s systems to begin shutting down. They get early treatment and recover without complications. It is so rewarding to see a disease process turned around so quickly. That is why I am an RN. That refuels my soul.
But when a patient comes in with vague symptoms, or complicated symptoms, the cause may not be easily discovered. The healing process becomes long. The opportunity for discouragement becomes greater. Disillusionment sets in and life can become dull.
I love reading and hearing about stories of men and women and children who overcome impossible odds revealing a difficult but very fulfilling life. I love seeing how others have turned their lives around.
It becomes addictive to have the power to change your life around.
People who are at peace with themselves and have a deep love of life are refreshing to be around. They want to be around you as much as you want to be around them. Just as a negative mood is catchy, a positive one is attractive and compelling. It is irresistible. The positive thinking gives energy.

*Note: This ‘There’s Fear in the Air’ Series was first thought through in September 2019, before the current COVID19 pandemic. It has prepared me to face this crisis a little easier.
